We did three years of Aquent/AIGA’s survey of design salaries, an online resource for designers to check median salaries in different parts of the country. What I remember about this one, which was the first in the series, was sketching ideas on a printout of an early design. That process, the actual sketching on the design, became the eventual design. Call it the process within the process. Since we were trying to make a site that screamed “designer” it worked to fill the white spaces of the site with sketches and doodles.
